A golf pro lesson during a holiday is one of the best investments you can make. But you have to do it right. Here are a few tips to get the most out of a lesson.
- Know what you want to work on
You can’t just walk up to a golf pro and say “My game has been pretty bad lately” and expect them to magically fix all your problems. Give the pro a real issue to focus on. For example “I’ve been having a hard time getting my driver to go straight” or “I’m not being able to get my irons consistent.” Give the pro something to work with.
- Get a lesson at the beginning of your trip, not the end
Most people make this mistake. Get a lesson at the beginning of your trip and you have time to work on it and see results. If you wait till the end of your trip, your time to practice is up and you just have to pay for the lesson.
- Take notes after your lesson
Write down two or three things you learned in the lesson. Write it down immediately after the lesson so you can’t forget. Then go and play the course and the tips start to sink in. For a Golf Hotel Cotswolds, consider tewkesburypark.co.uk/golf
- Don’t overanalyse what the pro says
You’re going to play the course the day after your lesson but don’t think about what the pro said every single swing. You’ll just be driving yourself crazy. Just go and have fun. The pro did their part. Now it’s your turn to do your part.
